Tip - Solicit Your Tenants for Seasonal Care

As the seasons change in many areas of the U.S, it is time for landlords to start preparing their property for winter. To name a few, servicing and testing the heating system, check storm doors and putting the storm windows in place are probably on your to-do list. You may find that one of your great tenants is willing to help you maintain the place for a small discount. If your building is in an area that receives snow each year, ask if that great tenant is willing to shovel the main walkways and stairs each morning there is a snowfall. This will take the pressure off of you to be there first thing in the morning, while providing the tenant with a financial break and added responsibility. You might be surprised at how many takers you get.
